Larry V. Franklin (1944 - 2008) spent his professional career as a police detective in Orange County, Texas. He proudly served his country as a military intelligence specialist in Vietnam and worked as a part-time teacher and literary agent later in life. Born in Beaumont, Texas, USA, he grew up on a small cattle ranch in Vidor, Texas. Tales of his great-grandfather’s cattle drives instilled his love of the West, cowboys, and history, which is reflected in his Western genre works. He pulled from his years in the military and his many years in law enforcement to bring realism and believability to his crime and political thrillers.
Larry attended Brigham Young University and Lamar University. He and his wife Carolyn are the parents of nine children, seventeen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in his family and in his authored works. Today, his literary estate is managed by his wife and children to preserve this legacy.
